Whenever you mention 9/11 most everyone remembers where they were. As Prepnation.dial-global.com talked to several and how they were affected, we find that country music stars are no different. Lady Antebellum‘s Charles Kelley celebrates his birthday that day, but remembers the year 2001 well. “So, I was in college, and yeah, it was wild. I mean, I woke up,was getting ready to go to class. And I had a roommate come in and say, ‘Man, turn on the TV. You know, classes are canceled. You won’t believe…’ And we all got up and watched it…and it had such a huge effect on everybody.

Rascal Flatts‘ Jay DeMarcus says, “Well, we brought out families in that morning because we were getting ready to have our first gold party at Lyric Street Records. My mom actually knocked on my bedroom door after the first plane had hit and I woke up, turned on my television and saw the second plane hit live on television….it’s still so vivid in my mind.”

And Miranda Lambert, a teen at the time the world changed says, “I was a sophomore in high school. I was in the choir. And I remember even in my little-bitty town Lindale, Texas there was kids leaving school because their loved ones had been injured or killed in 9/11, so it affected so many people and so many lives.

This Sunday is the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Here’s video from that day. We will never forget.
