"Cheetah" the Chimp, the start of 1930's Tarzan movies has passed at the age of 80. Cheetah died due to kidney failure according to the Suncoast Primary Sanctuary in Palm Harbor, Florida. According to Cheetah's keeper's, he loved finger painting and listening to Christian music because it seemed to settle him down. Cheetah's co-star and keeper until about 1960 was Johnny Weismuller. The chimp was the comic relief for "Tarzan" movies, telling the tale of a man raised by apes in the jungles of Africa.
