David Allan Coe Ordering Up Some Jack Daniels On Thirsty Thursday [VIDEO]

On today's "thirsty Thursday" is a singer who, growing up, was in and out of reform schools and prison. He is certainly an outlaw in country music and does things his way. He is David Allan Coe.

He is legendary not only for having hit songs like "You Never Call Me By My Name" "The Ride" and "Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile", but writing songs like "Would Lay With Me (In A Field Of Stone)" for Tanya Tucker and "Take This Job And Shove It" for Johnny Paycheck.

When Coe wrote the song for Paycheck in 1978, he recorded song the next year about turning to a bottle of whiskey for some help.
