Men just don't wear skirts. That's what one southwestern Illinois school district evidently thinks because they've turned down a male student's request to wear a kilt. William Carruba wanted to wear the skirt attire to his senior prom.

To celebrate his Scottish heritage, the 19 year old senior, bought the kilt made out of his family tartan.Turning him down for the second time, the Granite City School Board said the kilt is nontraditional and doesn't fit into the district's dress code. William is a true gentleman because according to this report, he not only attended the school board meeting to find out the outcome but also apologized for the attention the issue has brought the school.

And, he understands their decision and will wear pants. Not exactly how William "Braveheart" Wallace would have reacted.
