On this day one of my favorite movies of all time, "The Godfather", premiered in New York City. The American Film Institute's..100 years..100 movies list ranked it number two.
It was about the fictional Italian American Corleone crime family. It starred Marlon Brandon, Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, James Caan and Robert Duvall.
It won an Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.
Many movies and t.v. shows have made reference to "The Godfather", including "You've Got Mail" and "The Sopranos". But Brando's line.."I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse" is the one people remember. In fact it was voted second most memorable line in cinema history by the American Film Institute.
"The Godfather", BADA BING!
