It's finally here. Opening day for the Red Raider Baseball Friday. It's always an exciting time for fans, looking forward to a new season, but there is another reason to be excited.

 

The Red Raiders will be playing at a newly renovated ballpark. There are new chair back seat, that replace most of the aluminum benches. Also, there are all new suites, a new press box,very plus a new back stop that looks very much major league.

The renovation cost $5 million dollars and the ballpark is now known as Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

Friday will mark the 63rd baseball season at Tech.

Tech will hosting the Red Raider classic and welcome Tennessee Tech and Missouri State. The Red Raiders will take the field against Missouri State at 4pm.

Tech is returning will more experienced players and some star power including center fielder Barrett Barnes and reliever John Neely. Both have garnered several preseason All-America honors.

The Red Raiders have been picked to finish 7th in the Big 12, but with they have coming back, they may surprise some folks.
