Jared Ashley Reveals Country Roots During Exclusive Fan Q&A

Jared Ashley now makes his home on the road after spending four years on the water in the U.S. Navy. The 'Last Train to Memphis' singer says Nashville came calling after a performance at a country bar in Yokosuka, Japan. Before long the New Mexico-born, Georgia-raised singer was a regular at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and now labelmates to Aaron Lewis and Hank Williams Jr. 

The country newcomer took time to answer a few fan questions, and in this video exclusive to Taste of Country he shares his inspirations, road habits and first country music memories.

"If you were to take Alan Jackson and Bob Seger and join their DNA, you'd have a little baby Jared Ashley," he jokes before adding, "and he'd be cute as hell."

Ashley began playing in high school and sharpened his skills on the U.S.S. Independence and U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. He's built a solid fan base that only figures to keep growing in 2013. In addition to signing with Blaster Records, he's partnered with Epiphone Guitars to give away an autographed Masterbilt Series DR-500MCE guitar.
