Lauren Alaina dipped into two classic country favorites during her performance at the White House on Monday. In addition to playing ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter,’ Alaina was joined by Dierks Bentley to sing Elvis Presley’s ‘Always on My Mind.’

The President and First Lady watched alongside other VIPs and offered polite applause after the 17-year-old finished singing both songs. Alaina and Bentley were just two of many country singers participating in PBS’s ‘Country Music: In Performance at the White House.‘ The event was taped on Monday night, and it airs Wednesday night at 8PM ET on PBS.

Other aritsts on hand for the event were the Band Perry, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Darius Rucker and Alison Krauss. Earlier in the day, a handful of the performers joined 120 students at a workshop at the White House. They preached the cultural significance of country music.
