Michael Douglas and Matt Damon Star in Film about Liberace [VIDEO]

I'm guessing the hardest character to portray in a movie would be a non-fictional one, like President John Kennedy, or Apple's Steve Jobs. And now, Michael Douglas is taking over the role of the one-of-a-kind Liberace. Filming is scheduled to start next summer on "Behind the Candelabra", the HBO movie starring Douglas and Matt Damon. Damon plays Scott Thorson, Liberace's younger live-in lover. The biopic will be directed by Steven Soderbergh. Soderbergh produced "Ocean's Eleven" starring Matt Damon, and directed Michael Douglas in "Traffic".

And now, they take on a project about the life of a man who was a household word in the 50s. In those years, and later decades, the flamboyant Liberace dominated Las Vegas, was a regular on "The Ed Sullivan Show", "The Tonight Show" and guested on several television sitcoms. Michael Douglas has declared he's beat cancer and it will be a treat to see what he can do with this character out of our past known for his piano playing, outrageous costumes and extravagant jewelry.
