Miranda & Blake - 'Over You'

Standing in line at the grocery store I saw the June edition of PEOPLE Country that listed Country’s Sexiest Men for 2014. So of course I bought the magazine – are you kidding me? I’m not above going back to my ‘Teen Bop’ days and staring at hot celebrity guys in a magazine! Hell – I might even hang some of the full page pictures on my wall in my office! Because really, how else am I going to get Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Tim McGraw etc. in my office??

But in truth, while I’m all about Country’s Sexiest Men, that is not the purpose behind this blog. I actually found an interesting article about Miranda Lambert that I want to share!

Miranda Lambert shared with PEOPLE Country the songs that moved her and changed her life. She listed 5 of them but it’s one song that I didn’t know the back story to until I read this.

Blake and I wrote this together about his brother who died in a car accident when Blake was a teen. The fact that we wrote such a personal song together is special, but then he wanted me to record it. It won ACM and CMA Song of the Year, two of my most treasured moments and awards.

Of course I had to pull up the video after reading this because I always heard this song as a ‘break up song’ – but after listening to it again, now I get it.
