This year's race of ten for best picture also includes the artistic "The Black Swan" and Colin Firth's performance-supported "The King's Speech".   Look at last year when "The Hurt Locker" knocked off the much-praised "Avatar"; in 2009 "Slumdog Millionaire" socked bio shows like "Frost/Nixon" and "Milk".  Shows like "Pulp Fiction" and "Shawshank Redemption" enjoying near classic status and they lost out to "Forrest Gump"back  in 1995.  And that same year in the Supporting Actor category, Gary Sinise's Lt. Dan was bulldozed by Martin Landau's Bela Lugosi in "Ed Wood".

So, someone this year may be again pulling a rabbit out of a hat and of course I'll be there watching with the other millions of people Sunday night, Feb 27th.  And hoping, somehow, some way, in the magical world of Hollywood they got Billy Crystal to come back and do another unforgettable  opening number.
