This past Wednesday, Steve Wariner celebrated 15 years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He was inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville in 2008 and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame this year.

Wariner was one of only four guitar players in the world to be given the "Certified Guitar Player" award by Chet Atkins.
He points to George Jones and Chet Atkins as early influences, and by the age of 17 he was hired by Dottie West as a bass guitarist and played on her huge hit single "Country Sunshine."

After a run on RCA Records from the mid 70's through the early 80's, he switched labels and moved to MCA and began a string of Top 10 hits that lasted into the 1990's. In fact Wariner has recorded ten Number One hits and has charted more than fifty singles.

He has won four Grammy Awards, the most recent in 2010 for "Producer's Medley" from the album "Steve Wariner,c.g.p., My Tribute To Chet Atkins."

I've met and introduced Steve Wariner on stage many times and he is one of the nicest people I've met.
Let's go back to 1984 and enjoy Steve Wariner's #1 song from that year, "Some Fools Never Learn."
