Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert and Colt Ford are three of the biggest names in country music right now. They're all riding high on the success of Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem," written by Gilbert and Ford. The song is received a nomination for Song of the Year for this year's CMA's. With the success the three are having individually, they could be giants as a super group.

Super group is a word that doesn't get thrown around too often because they aren't common in the world of country music. Sure, there has been great success with The Texas Tornados and most recognizable, The Highwaymen, but there hasn't been a real big super group for nearly 20 years.

This would probably never happen but the combination of Aldean, Gilbert and Ford would be, in this writer's opinion, the super group that would make the most sense and have the most appeal. There could be some others that could pull it off, but with the success of all three right now, it would be an easy sell.

Of course there will never be another group that could come close to what they Highwaymen were, but these three could give a new generation of country music fans a thrill and provide them with something that's rarely done.

The three will continue to have success individually with their music and writing. As mentioned, it will probably never happen. It is fun however to think of what they would be called should they indeed form into a super group. My vote would go to The Dirt Road Boys.

Good news though, even though you won't be able to see all three together anytime soon, you will be able to see a third of the trio in Lubbock on December 1st as Brantley Gilbert will headline our 2011 Taste of Country Christmas Tour. Tickets are on sale.
