There are so many Christmas-themed movies to pick from but I've come up with my personal top five. These are the ones that I would watch whenever, wherever, and maybe even several times. I can't even tell you the number of times I've seen "Sleepless in Seattle" starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. If I'm cruising around the dial looking for a movie and there's only five minutes left in it, I will stop to watch those wonderful moments at the top of the Empire State Building. And yes, it qualifies as a Christmas movie. That's the season it starts in and even though ending on Valentine's Day, it's my number one Christmas movie. And yes, it's a fantasy about two fantastic-looking people finding each other and they all live happily ever after. But hey, isn't that what we're all striving for?

Others on my top five list are (2) the Jimmy Stewart classic, "It's a Wonderful Life";(3) "Love Actually";(4) "Miracle on 34th Street"(the original with John Payne, Maureen O'Hara, Natalie Wood and Edmund Gwenn); and (5) the 1938 version of "A Christmas Carol". But it is the Nora Ephron-directed "Sleepless in Seattle" that has my heart at #1. The storyline embodies the emotion of 'love' better than most tales, and to me, that's what Christmas is about. Here's the trailer. Makes me want to watch it again and again.
