The 12 tornadoes that rip through the Dallas/Fort Worth area was something that I have never witnessed in my life. Lives have been changed forever. Homes and business were destroyed with some folks losing everything.

Tommy Tuberville, the head football coach at Texas Tech, thought something needed to be done. He got some football players together and they have called on the Lubbock community to help out the people of DFW Metroplex.

About 40,000 Tech alumni live in DFW, about 7600 students who attend Tech are from the Metroplex and there 24 football players from DFW.

Texas Tech is asking alumni and fans to help in clean-up and volunteer their time. The Lubbock community is being asked to donate supplies for the relief effort. You'll be able to donate all day until 6pm.

They'll load it into the big Texas Tech 18 wheeler and drive to Dallas on Saturday.

Also, if you want to send money, contact the American Red Cross.

Jane and I talked with Blayne Beal, Associate Athletic Director/Communications, about how you can help.
