The call went out for help from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area after the tornadoes did their damage, and the Lubbock community and the Texas Tech football team answered that call.

Lubbock's donations filled two Texas Tech semi-truck trailers to help those affected by the tornadoes in DFW. Folks donated everything from toothpaste and bottled water to pet food and camping gear.

30 Tech football players and coaches then headed out around 6am Saturday morning to Lancaster , one of the hardest hit suburbs just south of Dallas.

I very proud of the young men of the Tech Football team and also proud of the citizens of Lubbock who gave a helping hand with their donations to help others in need.
