On this day in 1992, the U.S. Dream Team, that included Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, demolished the Cuban team 133-57 in their first exhibition. It gave the world a look at the best.

It was the first Olympic team from the United States to include NBA stars. Everyone said "finally". Before this, the United States team was made up of the best college players going against pros from other countries. Now things were even. Well not quite.

The Dream Team won the gold medal in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, beating their opponents by an average of 44 points.

Since then NBA players have represented the U.S. in the Olympics, but there will never be a team like the original Dream Team.
